74% of Consumers Intend to Keep Using Contactless Cards and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 11/24/21

  • Some 74% of consumers who tried using contactless cards this year plan to keep using them, up from 61% who said the same thing last year, according to a report from the Electronic Transactions Association and The Strawhecker Group.
  • Humbl Inc. released a new version of its Humbl Pay mobile wallet, including upgrades for peer-to-peer functionality and features aimed at simplifying the management of digital assets.
  • Payments provider Nuvei Corp. said a subsidiary has received an event-wagering and fantasy-sports supplier license in Arizona, which legalized online sports betting in April.
  • Afterpay said its buy now, pay later installment-payments service now applies to subscriptions, such as gym memberships, online services, and entertainment subscriptions.
  • Fraud-management platform Riskified Ltd. released its 2021 Holiday Season Report.
  • Cubic Transportation Systems said it will supply the technology to enable TransLink users in Vancouver, British Columbia, to use Interact Debit as a contactless fare payment.
  • Payments platform Tipalti Inc. said it will open an office in Toronto, adding to locations in San Mateo, Plano, and London, as well as in Israel and Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • Webb, Klase & Lemond LLC said it filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of several merchants against Priority Payment Systems LLC and Priority Technology Holdings Inc, alleging fraudulent inducement, breach of contract, and unjust enrichment.
