  • Amazon.com Inc. reported net sales of $514 billion for 2022, up 9% over 2021, excluding an impact from changes in foreign-exchange rates. Sales in the North American market grew 13% over 2021, to $315.9 billion. The company recorded an operating loss of $2.8 billion in North America, swinging from a positive $7.3 billion in 2021.
  • Sync2Sell announced it is enabling online stores using payment processing from Lightspeed Commerce and Lightspeed Retail to synchronize listings with stores they maintain on Facebook and Instagram.
  • U.S. mobile-wallet provider Fintiv is working with Geoswift, a payments-technology provider specializing in Asian cross-border payments, to enable remittances to Asia via Fintiv’s wallets.
  • Payments platform Nuvei Corp. will be the exclusive payments-technology provider for Le Panier Bleu, an online marketplace for businesses in Quebec, Canada.
  • Lorenzo Pellegrino, formerly chief executive of Paysafe Group PLC’s Neteller and Skrill payments services, has joined payments provider PayRetailers as chief operating and digital officer.
  • POSaBIT Systems Corp., a payments provider specializing in cannabis shops, appointed Chris Baker chief strategic officer. Most recently, Baker was vice president of technology and innovation at Genius Avenue, a fintech in the insurance industry.
