Snack POS Beefs Up Its Terminal Offering Through a Deal With Sunmi

Snack POS, a provider of restaurant software, has fortified its position in the hotly competitive restaurant point-of-sale payments market through a partnership with POS terminal maker Sunmi Technology Co. The deal will enable Snack POS to offer Sunmi’s POS and mobile devices to restaurants.

Sunmi’s devices are designed to help restaurants enhance their customer service, improve the accuracy of their order-taking and payment processing, and streamline their overall operations, according to Snack POS. The deal is also expected to expand Snack’s reach to more restaurants. Snack’s software supports online ordering, delivery, contactless payments, e-gift cards, and email marketing. Other features include real-time menu management, inventory tracking, secure payment processing, and reporting.

Snack POS is part of a growing field of players in the crowded restaurant POS market, including Toast Inc., Revel Systems, and Shift4 Payments Inc..

“Snack POS is excited to partner with Sunmi to offer our customers access to the most advanced POS hardware on the market,” Snack POS chief executive Shmuly Preizler says in a statement. “We believe this partnership will allow us to take our service to the next level and help our restaurant partners to provide a better overall experience to their customers. We look forward to working with Sunmi and our restaurant partners to bring this innovative technology to restaurants across the world.”

The deal with Sunmi follows an announcement last week from Snack POS that its software will enable a dual-pricing feature that allows restaurants to display card-versus-cash pricing on POS terminals at the time of sale.
