Pulse Volume up 9% And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/20/23

  • Discover Network reported $54.1 billion in Discover Card volume for the first quarter, up 9.5% over the same period last year. Discover’s Pulse debit network processed $65.3 billion in volume, a 9% increase year-over-year. Revenue net of interest expense rose 29% to $3.75 billion, but net income dropped 21% year-over-year owing largely to a $948-million increase in the company’s provision for credit losses.
  • Aurora Payments LLC said it acquired NailSoft, a salon management and point-of-sale system. Terms were not disclosed.
  • E-commerce services provider Wix.com Ltd. said it extended its integration with Square that now allows restaurant owners to sync their Wix Restaurants site with their Square accounts to expedite online ordering.
  • E-commerce checkout provider Cart.com selected Nuvei Corp. as its exclusive payments partner, Nuvei said.
  • U.S. Bank and Elavon said they are the new payment partners of the California Restaurant Association, which counts 22,000 member locations.
  • Payments provider Payoneer said it will offer its services to merchants using the accounting platform Zoho Books.
  • Accounting services provider Lockstep said its Lockstep Self-Service component now enables users to accept online payments from their customers using Stripe, PayPal, or the merchant processor of their choice.
  • Cryptocurrency advocacy group the Digital Currency Monetary Authority released a white paper on Unicoin, an international central bank digital currency.
