- Payments provider Priority Technology Holdings Inc. announced it has entered into a so-called stalking-horse agreement to bid on the assets of Plastiq Inc., an 11-year-old payments provider that has entered Chapter 11 restructuring. Terms of the bid were not disclosed.
- Freshmart, a Puerto Rico-based grocer with seven stores, said it has chosen eGrowcery to support e-commerce sales.
- Marketing-data provider Klaviyo announced it has integrated with Amazon Buy with Prime, enabling businesses to sync Buy with Prime orders and customer data with their Klaviyo account to get a more complete view of customer data, according to Klaviyo.
- Norway-based Idex Biometrics has agreed to work with French card maker Selp to scale up distribution of biometric smart cards for payments and identification. Selp produces more than 350 million cards annually for 60 countries. Idex specializes in fingerprint-recognition technology.
- Montreal-based payments provider Nuvei Corp. said it will process payments for the Official Copenhagen City Card, a service of Wonderful Copenhagen, Denmark’s non-profit tourism agency.
- Alphabet Inc.’s Google unit is for the first time widening its deployment of its reCAPTCHA technology to verify online payments for both large and small businesses. ReCAPTCHA is best known as the technology featuring the “I am not a robot” checkbox.
- Some 46% of consumers surveyed in a report from consumer-reporting agency TransUnion indicated they plan to travel more this spring and summer than last year, with 47% planning to travel the same amount as last year.
