  • Commerce platform FreedomPay said it will begin offering point-of-sale devices from Pax Technology Inc. in the second quarter next year.
  • Visa Inc. announced it will deploy its real-time payments network, Visa Direct, to allow users of United Kingdom-based money-transmission platform Paysend to route payments to eligible Visa cards in 170 countries and territories.
  • The India-based airline Vistara has joined the U.S.-based UATP platform, a specialist in payments processing for air travel.
  • Non-cash transactions worldwide will grow at an annual rate of 15% annually, taking a volume of 1.3 trillion this year to 2.3 trillion in 2027, according to the “2023 World Payments Report” from Capgemini Research Institute. The growth rate in North America over that time span will be 6.5%, the report indicates.
