Worldpay’s Transit Move And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/10/23

  • The processor Worldpay said it will work with Masabi, a provider of technology for transit-fare payments, to offer an EMV platform for what the pair call “transit agencies of all sizes.”
  • Health-care payments specialist RevSpring unveiled new features of its Engage IQ platform that includes updated messaging, the ability to use graphics in email and text messages, and better payment analytics.
  • Pavilion Payments, a processor specializing in the iGaming sector, launched a series of new services, including Mobile Jackpot, which enables casino personnel to use a mobile device to enable a jackpot payout via the winner’s preferred payment method.
  • Some 70% of chief information officers believe generative AI could help cyberthieves to generate more attacks, even though 35% are already experimenting with the technology for defense against malware, risk scoring, and other functions, according to the 2023 CISO Report from cybersecurity firm Splunk Inc. The research effort in May and June surveyed 350 CISOs and other senior executives in 10 countries, including the United States.
  • News has emerged that Braid, a 4-year-old startup that developed a so-called shared wallet enabling persons to pool money for a particular goal, has closed after raising $10 million in a series of funding rounds over the years.
  • Xsolla, a payments-technology provider for videogames, launched a “headless checkout” set of services as a feature of its new Xsolla Pay Station. Headless checkout technology enables users to make payments via channels, such as QR codes or social-media posts, that are separate from a merchant’s online checkout.
  • Clio, a technology provider for law firms, launched Clio Duo, a set of services based on artificial-intelligence technology, including billing.
  • Himanshu Patel, a veteran of Fiserv Inc. and First Data Corp., will take over as chief executive of point-of-sale payments-technology provider Verifone, effective Nov. 1. Patel succeeds Mike Kohlsdorf, who will remain on Verifone’s board.
