- Processor FIS Inc. launched FIS Digital One Flex Mobile 6.0, an update to its mobile-banking app, with what the company says is a simplified design and new fraud-prevention features.
- Payments platform Opus Technologies Inc. launched Paysemble, a payment-integration framework to help financial institutions manage their operations.
- Open-banking specialist Plaid Inc. updated its Beacon anti-fraud network with the addition of account insights. The service can provide data on factors such as account age and statis, number of connected apps via Plaid, and account connection frequency and associated Internet protocol addresses.
- Virgin Red, a loyalty program from Virgin Group, announced a multi-year agreement with card-issuer Synchrony and Mastercard Inc. for its new Virgin Red Rewards World Elite Mastercard, set to launch in the second half of the year.
- Payments provider BlueSnap Inc. announced its payments orchestration platform has added surcharging capability and more payment methods to its accounts receivable automation technology.
- Technology firm NetXD said it is working to enlist banks in Asia for Visa B2B Connect, a service that lets banks set up more quickly for cross-border business-to-business payments. The move follows NetXD’s similar work in Europe and the Americas.
- Payments software firm Exceleron Software and PayGo, a payments platform for utility companies, announced they have merged to form Empower Grid Holdings, with backing from Moore Strategic Ventures, Bahman Hoveida’s Accurant International LLC, and Avista Development Inc. Financial terms were not announced.
