Dash’s Visa Real-Time Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/12/24

  • Payments platform Dash Solutions has expanded an agreement with Visa Inc. to include a capability for Dash users to send real-time payments to cards, bank accounts, and mobile wallets using Visa Direct, Visa’s faster-payments platform.
  • The payments fintech Bread Financial said its Comenity Capital Bank will issue Saks Fifth Avenue’s World Elite Mastercard and Saks Credit Card under a new agreement starting in August. Bread is taking over the contract from Capital One N.A., the issuer listed in the terms and conditions for the card as of Jan. 1.
  • The utility-services company Hometown Connections said it is working with payments platform Diversified Data Processing & Consulting, Inc. (DivDat) to expand payment choices for utility customers.
  • Some 43% of senders and receivers of digital remittances report having no problems with the transfers, compared to 76% who report problems when sending cash, checks, or money orders, according to Visa Inc.’s “Money Travels: 2024 Digital Remittances Adoption” report.
  • AccelPay, a U.S. e-commerce processor specializing in alcohol brands, announced an expansion into the United Kingdom and the European Union.
  • J.P. Morgan joined the MACH Alliance, a trade group aimed at fostering open-technology adoption for enterprises, the Alliance announced.
  • Euronet Worldwide Inc., a Leawood Kan.-based payments platform linked to 53,029 ATMs and more than 700,000 point-of-sale terminals in 67 countries, named Sergi Herrero to its board of directors. Herrero, a former Meta executive, is chairman of Intix, a transaction-data analytics fintech.
