FEVO Picks Shift4 for Processing

FEVO Inc., an online shopping tool that enables consumers to share purchases with their friends, says it will use Shift4 Payments Inc. as its preferred payment processor for all music festivals and general-admission events.

New York City-based FEVO’s model is built on enabling consumers to shop together without leaving a merchant’s Web site via what it calls the Social Checkout.

Within a merchant’s site, the consumer can proceed through the checkout but choose to share the event or item details with others to also make a purchase for the event, such as tickets for a golf match or a concert.

FEVO says more than 800 brands, including concert venues, nightclubs, youth athletic camps, and festivals in the United States and Canada use its e-commerce services. It already has begun launching the Shift4 service.

Shift4 has made venues and events a major component of its merchant mix. Though long known for courting restaurants and general retail, the Allentown, Pa.-based payments provider recently landed new ticketing deals with Major League Soccer’s San Diego FC and the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams. Shift4 also began a major European expansion with its acquisition of Vectron Systems AG, a point-of-sale systems provider marketing in Germany.
