Visa’s Emergency Card Program and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/26/24

  • Visa Inc. unveiled Digital Emergency Card Replacement, a service that works on behalf of card issuers to replace lost cards with digital replacements, using text or email. Cardholders can store the replacement card in a digital wallet.
  • Elavon launched Elavon Cloud Payments Interface, an application programming interface aimed at easing digital and in-person payments at hotels and other related businesses.
  • The Minnesota Vikings National Football League team said it has chosen Shift4 Payments Inc. to process payments for tickets and concessions at U.S. Bank Stadium.
  • One Inc, a payments provider for the insurance industry, announced it has completed installation of ClaimsPay, a digital-claims payment system, for Zurich North America, which has begun using the system.
  • Online delivery service Shipt announced it has begun to accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) EBT benefits in payment for food orders on its platform.
  • Keys Inc. has launched a payments platform specializing in serving locksmiths. The service relies on technology from Stripe Inc.
  • Payments provider Electronic Payments Inc. introduced what it calls its POS Bill of Rights, aimed at bolstering “trust, transparency, and satisfaction among merchants.”
  • Square, the acquiring unit of Block Inc., found that 52% of consumers would return to a hair stylist if loyalty discounts were offered. The survey, conducted in early May among 2,009 U.S. adults and 1,002 Canadian adults, also found that 57% said difficulty scheduling an appointment caused them to switch stylists.
  • Norway-based CGI said it has renewed its agreement with Houston-based petroleum giant ExxonMobil for payments and loyalty services in Europe and Asia-Pacific.
  • Justt, an Israel-based platform for chargeback management, opened its North American headquarters in New York City.
