- Bharcap Partners LLC has made an unspecified majority investment in payments provider Electronic Merchant Systems, which processes roughly $6 billion in volume annually for 25,000 merchants across the country. The company was formerly majority-owned by founder Jim Weiland.
- Rentec Direct, whose software enables landlords to process rent payments and automate other business functions, released additional reporting features and updates, including automation of email reports.
- Prepaid card platform Ouro announced the Real Madrid Netspend Prepaid Mastercard is available in the U.S. market. Ouro was known as Netspend until November, when the company along with Rev Worldwide took on the new name.
- Nacha added four categories to its Preferred Partner program, bringing to seven the number of categories in the program. The new designations are account validation, fraud monitoring, ISO 20022, and open banking. These add to the existing categories: ACH experience, compliance, and risk and fraud prevention.
- June-quarter revenue in Apple Inc.’s Services business, which includes the company’s payments initiatives, rose 14%, to $24.21 billion, or 28% of Apple’s total revenue.
