Payments platform provider Payroc WorldAccess LLC has agreed to work with processor Moneris Solutions Corp. to provide card-present payments in Canada.
The partnership with Toronto-based Moneris enables Tinley Park, Ill.-based Payroc to provide independent software vendors and small and medium businesses with a single platform for processing card-present transactions in the United States and Canada.
Under the terms of the deal, Payroc will integrate its Payroc Cloud application programming interface with the Moneris Go terminal. A cloud-based API, Payroc Cloud is the next generation of Payroc’s eConduit API. That technology provides direct communication with payment devices, remote device management, and omnichannel payments capabilities, and provides access to future devices without the need for reintegration, according to the company. Moneris Go, which supports credit and debit payments, also provides detailed merchant reporting and emergency device swap-out coverage in Canada.
Payroc will offer ISVs two smart terminals, Moneris Go (the Pax A920) and Moneris Go Plus (the Ingenico AXIUM DX8000). Each terminal comes with touchscreen technology, extensive battery life, the latest security standards, Wi-Fi connectivity, and cellular connection, the company says.
ISVs seeking semi-integrated payment solutions can leverage Moneris Go devices in Canada while partnering with Payroc’s payment platform in the United States, according to Payroc. In addition, ISVs can offer Moneris Go as a standalone product to their merchant base.
Earlier this year, Payroc expanded its footprint in Canada through the acquisition of SterlingCard Payment Solutions Inc. , a provider of retail and e-commerce payment solutions, for an undisclosed sum.
