- MyKaarma, a payments service for automobile dealers, said its surcharge service, myKaarma Surcharge, has achieved compliance with Honest Pricing Laws that have been enacted in several states, including California and New York. Surcharging allows merchants to add their cost of credit card acceptance to a bill when a customer presents a credit card for payment.
- Unattended payments and vending provider Cantaloupe Inc. said it acquired SB Software Ltd., a United Kingdom-based vending and coffee management software provider that also serves Ireland. Cantaloupe said SB Software has more than 30,000 subscriptions. Terms were not disclosed.
- PayPal Holdings Inc. launched what it calls its “biggest U.S. ad campaign ever,” featuring actor Will Ferrell shopping in stores and online with the PayPal Mastercard debit card.
- DailyPay, an earned wage access provider, rebranded its Friday by DailyPay Visa Prepaid Card to the DailyPay Visa Prepaid Card. The Bancorp Bank issues the general purpose reloadable card.
- Agree LLC, whose technology facilitates consumer invoices and other agreements involving money movement, said it has completed a $3-millon pre-seed funding round led by Better Tomorrow Ventures.
- Account-to-account transactions worldwide will triple over the next five years, growing from 60 billion this year to 186 billion by 2029, according to projections from Juniper Research.
- Fiserv Inc. and FIS Inc. ranked first and second for 2024 in research firm IDC’s 2024 fintech rankings. The entries were sorted according to 2024 revenues from financial institutions for hardware, software, and services. Other payments-related companies in the top 10 are NCR Atleos (number 6) and Diebold Nixdorf Inc. (number 8).
