BlueSnap’s Many Integrations and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/24/24

  • Payments provider BlueSnap launched its Channel Partner Program, through which it has signed eight system-integration partnerships in the U.S., Canadian, and U.K. markets.
  • Visa Inc. said it is working with governing entities around the world to help them create digital access to government services for their citizens.
  • Mastercard Inc. announced it has extended its Product Express service to fintechs in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and North America. The program is aimed at helping entities launch a card program in as few as 15 days.
  • Payments-technology platform Elo said its 22-inch Elo Pay touchscreen, aimed at contactless payments on kiosks, is now compatible with the tap-to-pay on Android offering from Stripe Inc.
  • Payments-technology firm Plooto said it has introduced its Pay by Card to businesses in the United States and Canada. The product, developed with Visa Inc., lets users link a business card to Plooto to pay domestic vendors and choose networks for delivery of business payments.
  • Singtel, Singapore’s telecommunications company, has agreed to sell its Dash mobile wallet to Western Union. Terms were not announced. The 10-year-old app has more than 1.4 million users.
  • Xsolla, a specialist in payments for videogames, launched Parental Controls, a program aimed at allowing parents to control their children’s access to digital payments for transactions during gaming.
  • Security-technology firm Anonybit announced it has added voice and iris recognition technology to its Decentralized Biometric Cloud product, adding to existing capabilities for face and palm recognition.
  • Bank of America said it now holds or has applied for almost 1,100 patents related to artificial intelligence and machine learning, more than half of which have been granted. Across all fields, the bank holds almost 7,000 granted patents and pending applications, which it says represents the most patents granted to any financial institution.
