Worldpay Offers Klarna Globally and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/30/24

  • The big processor Worldpay has agreed to offer Klarna AB as a default payment method to its merchants around the world. Worldpay says it processed $2.3 trillion in volume last year for more than 1 million merchants worldwide.
  • Visa Inc. announced it has agreed to provide real-time money-movement capability for users making deposits at Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange. The service will rely on Visa Direct, the card network’s real-time payments platform.
  • Paysafe said it will offer its barcode technology to Germany’s Deutsche Bank to ease access to cash services for the bank’s private customers.
  • The investment firm Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire AdvancedMD, a payments and management platform for medical offices, from Global Payments. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close by the end of the year, were not disclosed.
  • Buy now, pay later technology platform Affirm Inc. said has updated its app, including an improved search function, easier access to payment terms, and display to users of their real time purchasing power.
  • Payments provider PayPoint Group said it has closed on its purchase of a 55.3% stake in obconnect, a provider of open-banking technology.
  • Synchrony, a provider of private-label credit cards for merchants, said it will support Synchrony Pay Later, a buy now, pay later capability, for the retail chain JCPenney under a new agreement.
  • Payments platform Dream Payments launched DreamPay, a payments service intended to be integrated directly with banks, insurance companies, and health-care providers.
  • Payments-software developer Jopari Solutions has launched Jopari Banking Hub, a payments-processing platform aimed at payout processing for insurance companies.
