Blackhawk Debuts eGift Card Links and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 11/14/24

  • Prepaid card platform Blackhawk Network launched eGift Card Links, which allows brands to let customers paste a link into an email, text, or social-messaging app. Recipients access the e-gift card by opening the link and can redeem it immediately.
  • Judopay, a United Kingdom-based mobile-payments platform, said it is entering the North American market.
  • Founded in 2001, Network Merchants LLC announced it has processed its 10-billionth transaction. NMI’s current annual payment volume is $225 billion.
  • Tips account for 23% of a restaurant worker’s income in the U.S. market on average, according to research form Block Inc.’s Square point-of-sale unit.
  • Volante Technologies launched Volante Payments Intelligence, which it says offers financial institutions real-time intelligence on payments performance.
  • InComm Payments is working with CaringBridge to introduce gift cards as a payment option on CaringBridge’s “Ways to Help” page. The new feature makes it easier for donors to buy and send gift cards to family caregivers, the parties say.
  • Sling Money has launched its app in the U.S. market. The app allows users to send peer-to-peer payments based on stablecoins.
  • PAR Technology, a provider of payments systems and other technology for restaurants, launched PAR Clear, a headset system for drive-throughs.
  • Finzly Inc., a provider of payments services for banks, has appointed Patrick Szewczyk chief product officer. A banking veteran, Szewczy has formerly worked for financial institutions including U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo.
