- Separate stockholder meetings for Capital One Financial Corp. and Discover Financial Services voted to approve Capital One’s proposed acquisition of Discover, a deal that was first proposed a year ago. Cap One says it now expects the $35.3-billion transaction to close early this year, subject to approval from the Federal Reserve System’s Board of Governors and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The Delaware State Bank Commissioner approved the deal in December.
- Unattended payments provider PayRange LLC said it acquired Turns, a laundromat operating system. Terms were not disclosed.
- Payments platform Red Maple Press Inc. released Subscription Payments for Microsoft Dynamics, said to be an automated method to manage recurring payments, billing, and subscriptions.
- RoadFlex, a payments provider for fleet fueling, said it will work with Casey’s General Stores to offer savings on fuel for RoadFlex cardholders at more than 2,800 Casey’s stores.
- NCR Atleos Corp. said the Utah Community Credit Union joined the Allpoint Network, which has more than 40,000 ATMs.
- Fintech Wildfire Systems Inc. announced its Benefits & Loyalty Amplifier, a service for card issuers that includes card upselling, dining rewards, and card-linked offers they can offer cardholders.
- Health care payments specialist RevSpring Inc. said its recent online survey, “AI Patient Engagement Pulse,” found that 33% of patients would prefer to use artificial intelligence to resolve financial questions, such as estimated costs and payment options. The survey canvassed 1,113 individuals.
- Vespia, a business verification services provider based in Estonia, said it is working with Mastercard Inc. on an expedited merchant onboarding process in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and Africa, and the Asia-Pacific regions.
- South Korea-based smart card maker Kona I received a letter of approval from Mastercard for biometric plastic cards built on the IDEX Pay platform from IDEX Biometrics ASA.
