Buy now, pay later specialist Affirm Holdings Inc. continues to expand into fashion merchants through a partnership with online fashion-marketplace StockX.
Apparel merchants are a fast-growing merchant category for Affirm. The BNPL provider has added 55 apparel sellers in the past six months, including StockX. In addition, transactions in its apparel and accessories category grew 25% between October and December 2024, Affirm says.
The growth in apparel is being driven by consumer demand for flexible payments options, such as biweekly and monthly payments, the company adds.
As part of the agreement, StockX and Affirm are offering eligible customers zero-percent financing for three or six months. The promotion runs March 10 through March 17.
Brands selling on the StockX marketplace include Jordan Brand, a Nike-owned line of basketball shoes, apparel, and accessories inspired by Michael Jordan; Louis Vuitton; Gucci; and Nike, as well as LEGO, Sony, Microsoft, Meta, and Apple.
U.S.-based Affirm counts more than 337,000 merchants globally for its BNPL services, including fashion brands Canada Goose, Net-a-Porter, and Adidas.
