Kuba’s Sacramento Fare System and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/7/25

  • The Sacramento Regional Transit District launched Tap2Ride, a contactless open-loop fare system from Kuba that enables users to use a contactless credit or debit card or a mobile wallet to pay for rides, said Kuba, a transit fare system provider.
  • Floorzap, a developer of business-management tools for flooring retailers, announced a payment-processing platform enabling merchants to process card, automated clearing house, and other payments in-store and elsewhere on mobile devices.
  • Blockchain-transaction platform Vaulta has teamed with VirgoCX Global Holdings to introduce VirgoPay, a cross-border payments network using stablecoins to cut transfer fees and times for cross-border payments.
  • In related news, European crypto exchange WhiteBIT announced it has exceeded 1 million payments on a recently introduced Visa-branded card that enables digital-currency transactions.
