- Ingenico Group said retailer City Furniture is using Ingenico mobile point-of-sale readers and software services as part of its new POS system used in its 27 stores.
- Payment card manufacturer CPI Card Group Inc. reported second-quarter sales of $65.8 million, down 10.7% from the same period last year. Its net loss was $2.2 million, compared to $300,000 a year ago. The company lowered its outlook for full-year 2017, in part owing to an expected slowdown in EMV card sales.
- ATM operator Cardtronics plc had second-quarter revenue of $385.1 million, an 18.9% increase from $324 million in the same period a year ago. Its net income of $15.2 million was 24.4% less than the $20.1 million figure in 2016. Its North America revenue, with a growth rate of 9.7%, outperformed the Europe and Africa rate of 6.2%.
- Payments provider B2 Payment Solutions Inc. debuted the B2 Magstripe Card Simulator, a software app that can simulate magnetic-stripe cards without the need for an actual physical card.
- Law firm Webb, Klase & Lemond LLC said it filed two class-action lawsuits against EVO Payments International and its operating unit EVO Merchant Services alleging they overbilled merchants. The lawsuits claim that EVO assesses fees and rate increases not disclosed in merchant contracts. An EVO spokesman said the company does not comment on pending litigation.
- Mastercard Inc. and PayPal Holdings Inc. have expanded their partnership. The agreement boosts Mastercard as an option in the PayPal wallet and makes it easier to use PayPal at the point of sale in the Asia-Pacific region.
- First Data Corp. announced it signed a three-year agreement to sponsor a NASCAR race at a Martinsville, Va., venue. First Data also said its Clover POS system will be used at three race tracks owned by International Speedway Corp. this season.
- EMVCo, the global standards body that generates specifications for EMV, tokenization, and online authentication, has launched a redesigned Web site.
