Domino’s Alexa Ordering Appeal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/2/17

  • While denying any wrongdoing in the matter, card manufacturer CPI Card Group Inc. settled two patent lawsuits with Gemalto S.A. Under the terms of the settlement, CPI Card Group agreed to make a one-time $750,000 payment in the fourth quarter. Both lawsuits will be dismissed and both parties agreed not to sue for a period of 18 months.
  • Some 20% of its U.K. customers who could use the Domino’s Easy Order online option to place orders are instead using Alexa, Amazon.com Inc.’s voice assistant, according to a report in Digiday. The pizza chain introduced ordering via Alexa in the U.K. in July.
  • Atom Tickets, which offers a mobile-ticketing app for movies, has teamed with T-Mobile to offer $2 tickets to see “My LIttle Pony: The Movie” for $2 through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app.
