Incomm Partners with CheckFreePay and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 6/26/18

  • Bill.com announced that, at more than $52 billion, it has surpassed the $50-billion mark in bill payments processed annually for more than 3 million small-business clients.
  • Prepaid specialist Incomm announced it is working with CheckFreePay Corp., a unit of Fiserv Inc., on a cash-based bill-payment service in store checkout lanes.
  • Fidelity National Information Services Inc. (FIS) has agreed to provide The Clearing House with technology that will allow financial institutions to test and certify to TCH’s recently launched RTP real-time payments solution.
  • In related news, NICE Actimize has launched an expanded version of its Fraud Essentials Cloud solution, which it says will help financial institutions manage fraud risk associated with faster payments.
  • In a survey of more than 2,000 online-game players playing at least two hours per week on any platform, ACI Worldwide found that PayPal is the dominant payment method, while 23% view cryptocurrency favorably.
  • Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) will process transactions for Eye Care Leaders, a network of more than 8,000 ophthalmologists and optometrists.
  • American Express Co. said it plans to issue a cobranded Amazon.com Inc. credit card for U.S. small businesses.
  • UnionPay International, the China-based payments giant, said it is working with the Bank of China (Canada) to enable Foodymart stores in Canada to accept UnionPay Quick Response code payments. UnionPay, which said some food and beverage merchants in California also accept its QR codes, expects the number of such merchants to reach 5,000 by the end of 2018.
  • Visa Inc. said it has decided to deposit $600 million into its litigation escrow account, a move it says will dilute the value of its Class B shares, which are held exclusively by U.S. financial institutions, by reducing the conversion rate of Class B shares to Class A shares.
