Apptizer Launches Order Eat Pay Service and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/17/18

  • Prepaid card program manager Netspend Corp. and its business partners were scrambling Wednesday morning to clear up an apparent glitch preventing some users of a prepaid product for payroll from accessing their paychecks. Issuing partner MetaBank released a statement to news media indicating it is working to clear up the issue, which is apparently related to a problem at processor Fidelity National Information Services Inc. (FIS). “Meta is confirming that their processing partner, FIS, is experiencing an issue with an ACH application that is impacting the ability of a number of our clients to service customers,” MetaBank said in statement issued to news media. “We are collectively working to remediate the issue as quickly as possible and return the operations to business-as-usual.” An FIS spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. A number of disgruntled users took to Twitter and other social media to air their complaints against the bank and NetSpend, a unit of processor Total System Services Inc.
