Twenty-one percent of consumers used a mobile app to pay a bill in 2019’s first quarter, up from 19% in the year-earlier period, according to a survey of more than 3,000 consumers by ACI Worldwide Inc. Meanwhile, 28% used a paper check, down from 32% a year earlier, according to the ACI Speedpay Pulse survey.
U.S. Bancorp, owner of merchant acquirer Elavon, said higher sales volumes lifted its third-quarter merchant-processing revenues to $410 million, a 4.6% year-over-year increase.
