- Faria Education Group, an international provider of systems and services for educational institutions, said its U.K. unit has acquired a majority interest in SchoolsBuddy, a payments provider for more than 240 international schools.
- Fidelity National Information Services Inc. said a new agreement with JCB will allow Worldpay e-commerce merchants operating in Japan to accept JCB cards via a single integration. FIS closed on its acquisition of Worldpay in July.
- The Federal Reserve has apparently resolved a glitch that delayed settlement of direct deposits and other transactions Thursday on the FedACH system. Information about the cause of the issue and how many institutions were impacted was not immediately available, though the Fed issued a statement indicating it is investigating the incident.
- The Western Union Co. appointed Shelly Swanback president for product and platform, reporting to chief executive Hikmet Ersek. Swanback, who will take up her duties next month, comes to the company from Accenture.
- Paysign Inc., a provider of prepaid card programs and processing services, named Kim Sergent chief marketing officer. Sergent comes to the company from InComm, where she was vice president of marketing for the financial-services unit.
- First American Payment Systems LP said Neil Randel, its chief executive, was reelected to the Electronic Transactions Association’s board of directors.
- Payments provider Blackhawk Network Holdings Inc. named Brett Narlinger senior vice president of global commerce. Narlinger comes to the company from Green Dot Corp., where he was chief revenue officer, and before that held positions at Mercury Payments and First Data Corp.
