BMO Harris Bank Adds Zelle for B2C Payments and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 1/23/20

  • BMO Harris Bank has made Zelle person-to-person payments available to its commercial clients, which can use Zelle to pay individuals without requiring banking information needed for ACH transactions. BMO Harris Bank says it is one of only eight banks to offer Zelle as a business-to-consumer service.
  • Commerce Bank said insurer Progressive will use CommercePayments PreferPay for claims payments. Available payment methods include ACH, check, and direct-to-debit via Visa Direct, which provides for real-time payments.
  • Automated clearing house network provider Nacha said it and seven other payments associations are expanding Nacha Certified, a voluntary certification program for third-party senders, to enable these associations to conduct Nacha Certified reviews.
  • Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, with more than 500 locations in 41 states, will use Ingenico Group’s Lane/8000 point-of-sale terminals that Ingenico said will cut payment card processing times in half. Ingenico did not say if the software uses expedited EMV software to achieve shortened times. The terminals also offer a multimedia touchscreen and contactless payment acceptance. Installation is expected to be complete by April.
  • TipTapGo LLC launched a mobile app for valet and parking operators that enables consumers to electronically tip a valet.
  • 100 Thieves, an esports gaming organization, said its headquarters is the 100 Thieves Cash App Compound, a 15,000-square-foot facility in Los Angeles, following a marketing deal with Square Inc., provider of the person-to-person payment service Cash App.
  • Tipalti Inc., a provider of cloud-based accounts-payable services, said it will open an office in Vancouver, British Columbia, to add to existing facilities in San Mateo, Calif., and Kibbutz Glil-Yam, Israel.
  • Consulting firm Deloitte released a report on Facebook Inc.’s Libra program.
