As merchants expect more consolidated services from their point-of-sale systems, payments providers are listening and acting.
Merchant processor Shift4 Payments LLC said Tuesday that its suite of restaurant POS systems now has an integration with TakeOut7 Inc., an online-ordering service. This enables orders placed via TakeOut7 to sync with Shift4’s POS software brands.
Hartford, Conn.-based TakeOut7 says its commission—listed as 4.3% on its Web site—is well below the 30% some menu aggregators might take.
“TakeOut7’s integration with Shift4’s Marketplace will allow restaurants to be up and running with their own fully integrated online-ordering solution in as little as two weeks,” Anurag Ahuja, TakeOut7 chief executive, said in a statement. “Consumer demand for online ordering continues to grow and independent restaurants are anxious to find an integrated solution like the ones national chains have already launched with their own proprietary technologies.”
In December, Allentown, Pa.-based Shift4 filed documents for a proposed public offering.
In related news, security and compliance provider Netsurion said it joined the Restaurant Technology Network association.
“Small businesses with many branches, like restaurants, are favorite targets for ransomware or malware designed to steal payment card information from POS systems,” Jason Graf, Netsurion’s vice president of product management for secure branch networking, said in a statement. “We’re excited to expand our collaboration with RTN and work even more closely with our technology peers and leading restaurant IT professionals to reduce those risks and improve the security posture of the industry.”
