Eye on Contactless: Touchless Comes to Wynn Resorts And Klarna Adds a Google Pay Option

More contactless payment options are coming for Las Vegas visitors and shoppers who want to make installment purchases in stores. FreedomPay says it has installed contactless and touchless payment systems at more than 100 venues at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Boston Harbor resorts. Meanwhile, installment-payment provider Klarna AB added Google Pay as an in-store option for shoppers.

Philadelphia-based FreedomPay says its systems will enable contactless payments at all of the fine and casual dining locations at the resorts, as well as at poolside, in the nightclub, while golfing, for room service, and in the retail outlets.

Specifically, the system will work with contactless cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. FreedomPay’s system also provides for in-app payment for mobile ordering and touchless point-of-sale purchases.

In related news, Klarna says Google Pay users can opt for that payment choice when making in-store purchases they want to spread over time. Klarna already offers an Apple Pay option, which it launched in January. Among the early adopters of Google Pay are retailers Sephora, Journeys, and rue21.

Klarna says the average order value for Apple Pay user increased as much as 310% compared to orders transacted through other means.
