Clearent Acquires Wintac and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/23/20

  • Clearent LLC announced the acquisition of Wintac, a software developer for the residential contractor industry. Wintac will become part of FieldEdge, a Clearent subsidiary. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Payments provider Priority Technology Holdings Inc. has completed a previously announced sale of its RentPayment business to real-estate technology provider MRI Software. Priority will continue to support the unit with payment processing. Terms were not disclosed.
  • Paya Inc. said CoverMe, a software-as-a-service application for hospitals and long-term care providers, will integrate Paya’s payments technology into the app.
  • 2Checkout, which Verifone Inc. acquired in August, said Reveal Sound will use the Avangate Monetization Platform to improve its e-commerce operations for its audio plug-in products.
  • Payments-technology provider Charge Anywhere LLC jointly announced with point-of-sale terminal provider Castles Technology the release of Charge Anywhere’s QuickSale software with the Castles Saturn series of Android smart POS devices.
  • Grocer Giant Eagle, which operates more than 200 stores, launched FlyBuy Pickup, a curbside pickup program that uses proprietary location technology to enhance curbside and in-store pickup from Radius Networks Inc. The technology is integrated into the Giant Eagle mobile app.
  • Payments provider SpotOn Transact Inc. announced a $60-millon Series C funding round led by DST Capital. The company had just completed its Series B round in March.
  • ACI Worldwide Inc. said LeMoyne-Owen College is offering ACI’s Speedpay bill-payment service to allow students and parents to make fee payments to the school.
  • PayPal Holdings Inc. said its PayPal Business Debit card is now available in five European countries in addition to its existing availability in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The five new countries are Austria, France, Ireland, Italy, and Spain. Through the card’s cash-back feature, PayPal has paid out $45 million annually.
  • TD Bank survey found that 16% of millennials don’t know their credit limit and 34% revolve a balance each month. The survey canvassed more than 1,000 U.S. consumers in June.
  • Coro Corp., whose app allows users to save and spend gold as a currency, said it has been granted a money-transmitter license by the state of Delaware.
