- PayPal Holdings Inc. announced a service that allows account holders to buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrency directly from their account. The company also said it will make cryptocurrency available as a funding source for purchases at the 26 million merchants worldwide that accept PayPal.
- Payments provider FIS Inc. said it added pharmacy chain Walgreens to its Premium Payback real-time rewards-redemption network. The network allows cardholders to pay with points from participating card-loyalty rewards programs. Besides Walgreens, PayPal, Shell, and BP are among participating companies.
- Worldline S.A.’s $8.6 billion acquisition of point-of-sale terminal maker Ingenico Group S.A. moved a step closer with the successful tender offer of Ingenico shares. The deal could close Oct. 28.
- The average out-of-network ATM withdrawal fee is $4.64, a decrease of 8 cents from 2019, according to Bankrate.com’s latest survey on checking and ATM fees. The average last decreased in 2004. Atlanta had the highest average total fee of $5.60. Chicago, at $4.11, was the lowest of the 25 cities in the study.
- PAX Technology Inc. said Moneris Solutions Corp. launched the PAX A920 Android Mobile Terminal as the Moneris Go.
- Lightspeed POS Inc. released Lightspeed Subscriptions, a new module that enables retailers using Lightspeed Payments to collect recurring revenue through their point-of-sale system.
- Gateway Cardknox said its gateway now supports SNAP EBT payment processing online. This enables SNAP recipients to make online purchases of SNAP-eligible products and enter their PINs securely using a digital PIN pad.
- Pineapple Payments said it and Rithom Consulting, which specializes in Salesforce administration, development, and consultancy, developed a payment product for integration into Salesforce. Users can send invoices, receive payments, and perform collection actions within Salesforce using Pineapple’s payment rails
- CityBase, which specializes in government and utility bill payment, said the Village of Mt. Prospect, Ill., will use no-contact payment kiosks and its online payment service in a measure to unify online and in-person payments across its departments.
- Mastercard Inc. said it is working with identity-technology provider Idemia and fintech MatchMove to test a card that enables a fingerprint to authorize in-store transactions. The pilot, set for the fourth quarter, will take place in Singapore.
