Ria Inks Kroger Deal and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/27/20

  • Ria Money Transfer, a unit of Euronet Worldwide Inc., said its services will be available in more than 2,000 Kroger stores. Ria also announced that Fiesta Mart, a grocery chain based in Texas with 59 stores, will offer its money-transfer services.
  • A survey from daVinci Payments found that 52% of women intend to spend less this holiday season and 31% said they will spend the same as last year. Only 17% intend to spend more. Conducted Oct. 1-2, the survey canvassed more than 1,000 U.S. shoppers and was filtered to 536 female responses.
  • For the week ending Oct. 18, purchases of goods was up 32.8% for debit cards and up 29.8% for credit cards year-over-year, according to PCSU’s weekly Tracking Transaction Trends report. The increase was influenced by Amazon.com Inc.’s Prime Day event Oct. 13-14.
  • Bluefin Payment Systems LLC raised $25 million in financing, led by Macquarie Capital Principal Finance.
  • Digital identity verification provider Socure launched its Sigma Synthetic Fraud, a service meant to address synthetic identity fraud.
  • Patientco, a provider of medical-billing technology, said practice-management company SCP Health has adopted its billing and payment technology. SCP operates in more than 400 facilities in 30 states.
  • Payments provider Green Dot Corp. said it will support Gig Wage, a service provider for gig workers, in adding banking services to its instant-payment platform.
  • Fattmerchant said ServiceTrade, which provides software for the commercial-services industry, will use Fattmerchant’s Omni Connect service to provide payment processing to its clients. ServiceTrade said its clients process more than $1 billion annually in invoices.
  • Paya Inc. said it is working with Artis Technologies, a lending-services provider, to integrate Paya’s payments technology into the Artis Connect and Artis Credit platforms.
  • PureWrist, a contactless-transaction technology provider, launched the PureWrist gift card program that includes two options. One is a prepaid digital card with a companion app and tap-and-go wearable bracelet. The other is a digital-only Mastercard debit card.
  • Payments provider i2c Inc. named Miguel Olvera its regional director of business development for Mexico. Olvera previously worked at Citibanamex for nearly a decade.
