3-D Secure Use up 73% and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/12/21

  • Cybersecurity provider RSA said payment transaction volume using 3-D Secure increased 73% globally in 2020 over 2019 in its RSA Quarterly Fraud report for the 2021 first quarter.
  • The payments provider FreedomPay said the Foot Locker Inc. chain has installed its payments system across Foot Locker’s more than 2,000 U.S. stores.
  • Workflow-automation company DocuPhase announced it has acquired Clearwater Payments, a specialist in business-to-consumer and business-to-business billing and payments. Terms were not announced.
  • Fintech Select Inc., a provider of prepaid card programs and mobile banking, announced it has registered as a Money Service Business with the Financial Transactions and Reports Centre of Canada in preparation for launching an online payments platform in that country.
  • Podcast-platform provider Liberated Syndication Inc., also known as Libsyn, said it has acquired Glow, a specialist in processing payments for podcast content. Terms were not announced.
  • In collaboration with Doconomy AB, a Sweden-based fintech, Mastercard Inc. has developed a calculator that lets consumers calculate the carbon emissions resulting from their purchases.
