Check Partners With Procare To Provide Digital Payroll Services To Child Care Centers

Responding to child-care administrators’ need for improved payroll services, payroll-as-a-service startup Check Technologies Inc. has partnered with Procare Software LLC to provide digital-payroll services to Procare’s child-care center business-management platform.

The deal comes at a time when strained resources during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have accelerated child-care centers’ need for digital payroll solutions, according to New York City-based Check. Automating payroll will take one of the most time-consuming processes that child-care centers perform off their plate, Andrew Brown, chief executive and co-founder of Check, says in a prepared statement.

Procare, which plans to offer Check’s integrated payroll service in early 2022, serves 35,000 child-care centers, preschools, daycares, afterschool programs, camps, and other child-centered businesses. Procare’s platform enables child-care centers to digitally manage enrollment and attendance tracking, contactless check-in/out, integrated payment processing, staff management, parent engagement, and reporting, according to the company.

“We frequently hear from customers that they want to simplify paying their teams, and Check was the perfect partner for delivering on this mandate, enabling us to offer a one-stop-shop for our customers’ operational and administrative needs,” JoAnn Kintzel, chief executive at Medford, Ore.-based Procare says in a prepared statement. “We’re excited to integrate Check’s technology into our platform to help us provide a child-care-specific and efficient payroll offering, so our customers can get back to providing quality care to children.”
