RocketFuel Completes an Integration to Enable Crypto Payments Through ACI’s Platform

RocketFuel Blockchain, Inc., a provider of payment technology for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, has finalized the integration of its payment solution with ACI Worldwide Inc. The integration to ACI’s Secure eCommerce platform will enable ACI’s more than 80,000 merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments with no processing fees. The partnership between the two companies was initially announced last November.

ACI merchants will now be able accept more than 120 cryptocurrencies via an interface that can be integrated into all leading e-commerce platforms and Web sites. In addition, ACI merchants will be able to incorporate cryptocurrency-based payment options into their mobile checkouts. The integration will also add new cryptocurrencies as payment options as RocketFuel adopts them. ACI merchants will have the choice to receive their settlements in local fiat currencies, such as the dollar or Euro, without the volatility risk typically associated with cryptocurrency, RocketFuel says.

One advantage of cryptocurrency acceptance is that it eliminates chargebacks and geographical restrictions on payments, making it easier for merchants to do business globally, according to RocketFuel chief executive Peter Jensen.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for both merchants and shoppers to leverage the benefits of cryptocurrency payments,” said Basant Singh, global head of product, payments and fraud, at ACI, in a prepared statement. “As recently as January, the largest online marketplace for vacation rentals and lodging tweeted that crypto payments were the most requested feature by customers for 2022. We believe that crypto adoption rates will continue to grow this year, and our partnership with RocketFuel will ensure that crypto as a payment type can be utilized globally.”
