Vail Resorts Picks Uplift for BNPL and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/20/22

  • Vail Resorts has selected buy now, pay later provider Uplift to allow Vail guests to pay for a pass over time with monthly installments.
  • Discover Financial Services launched its Online Privacy Protection service on its mobile app. The service allows users of the Discover card and banking services to remove personal information from 10 Web sites that collect and sell such data.
  • Payments provider Repay Holdings Corp. will support payments for D2R-Collect, a provider of collections technology for credit unions, educational institutions, and small businesses.
  • Capital Automotive Group launched RideShift, a platform to enable online purchasing of used cars from automobile dealers. Some 20 dealerships are participating.
  • Processor Fiserv Inc. and the credit-reporting company Equifax Inc. announced a partnership to provide real-time data to help financial institutions evaluate small and medium-size businesses. An expansion into consumer data is planned for the future.
  • The village of Fontana, Wis., has adopted a mobile app from Passport Parking to pay for parking, replacing an app the town had previously introduced. Passport says more than 800 cities, private operators, and universities in North America are now using its app.
  • In related news, rival PayByPhone said its app will manage parking and payments at 5,000 spaces in Cincinnati.
  • Elavon, the big payment-processing unit of U.S. Bank, appointed Pari Sawant chief product officer. Sawant comes to the company from Adobe and has experience with Fiserv, eBay, and other companies.
