  • Dining-deal Web site Restaurant.com will work with payments provider Blackhawk Network to expand the site’s gift card program via Blackhawk’s online distribution network.
  • SpotOn, a payments provider for restaurants, has been named a preferred technology partner by the New York State Restaurant Association.
  • Amount, a fintech specializing in the rapidly expanding buy now, pay later market, laid off 18% of its workforce, TechCrunch reported. The actual number of affected employees was not immediately known. The move follows a recent workforce reduction at Klarna AB, another BNPL provider.
  • Health-care payments provider RevSpring said it has integrated CarePayment, a financing company for health care, within RevSpring’s PersonaPay payment portal.
  • Marqeta Inc. has expanded its credit card-issuing platform to include more than 40 new credit application programming interfaces, which enable users to design, test, and launch new cards. The expansion, which also includes a new dashboard, comes as consumer demand for credit cards has boomed, Marqueta says.
  • In related news, Cogent Bank has created a digital-banking platform based on services from Tassat, a provider of real-time payments using blockchain.
  • Circle Internet Financial Inc., issuer of the USD Coin stablecoin, said it will work with New York Community Bancorp Inc. to create low-cost financial options based on Circle’s blockchain for unbanked communities. Also, NYCB’s bank unit, New York Community Bank, will be custodian for USDC reserves.
  • Gift card and loyalty provider Factor4 LLC said it received certification from Dejavoo Payment Software Solutions for use with its IPOSPays Gateway.
  • Trustly, an open banking payments provider, said payments provider Gr4vy will offer Trustly as a payment option to its clients.
