- There has been a “noticeable increase” in fraud on credits and debits on the automated clearing house network, according to the latest “Payments Fraud and Control Survey Report” from the Association for Financial Professionals. Some 33% of responding organizations reported ACH debit fraud in 2018, up from 28% in 2017, while ACH credit fraud affected 20% of organizations, a rise from 13% the year before.
- Fiserv Inc. and First Data Corp. each received on April 4 a second request for information and documentary materials from the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the proposed merger of the two companies announced Jan. 16. Fiserv reported the second request Monday in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The two companies still expect to complete the merger in the second half of the year, according to the filing.
- House Advantage LLC’s eTouchMenu unit integrated its point-of-sale payments software with hospitality POS systems provided by Squirrel Systems.

- BitWallet Inc. launched a cryptocurrency wallet for Apple Inc. mobile devices. The app enables consumers to store, send, and receive Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
- Payments platform 2Checkout released its “Q1 2019 Benchmark Report on Digital Commerce Trends in Software and Online Service Sales.” Worldwide, it found that Visa and Mastercard-branded payments accounted for 70% of payment methods.
- Paysafe Group said its partnership with Payment Source now includes PaySimply, the Payment Source portal for tax and bill payments.
- Marketing services provider Cardlytics Inc. appointed Aimée Lapic, chief marketing officer of Sirius XM Holdings Inc.’s Pandora music streaming service, to its board of directors.
- SpotHero, which markets a mobile app for finding and paying for off-street parking, said it has hired three new executives: chief marketing officer Chris Stevens; vice president of verticals Paolo Lorenzoni; and vice president of customer experience Rob Reilly.
