Airwallex’s Borderless Card and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 4/10/24

  • Airwallex launched in Canada what it calls its Borderless Visa Card, a virtual card Canadian business travelers can use for payments where Visa is accepted globally. Peoples Trust Co. is the issuer.
  • Payments provider Talus Pay announced it is rebranding as simply Talus, while its recently acquired Jobox.ai unit will take on the Talus Pay name. Clarus Merchant Services, another recent acquisition, will rebrand as Talus.
  • The Clearing House Payments Co. LLC announced its CHIPS network has migrated to the ISO 20022 message format, as of April 8. TCH says this is the first such move by a high-value payments network in the United States.
  • Comdata Inc. launched a contactless capability for its Chargepass Mastercard, which is aimed at electric-vehicle charging, as well as fueling, for fleet operators.
  • Travel-payments specialist Mesh Payments launched a guest-travel capability that allows businesses to pay travel expenses for job candidates and other guests of the company.
  • UATP, a U.S.-based payments platform serving more than 30 air carriers and travel companies, said Sri Lankan Airlines has renewed its merchant status with the company.
  • RevSpring, a payments provider specializing in health care, announced it can help providers comply with a new law in Texas mandating that statements give a plain-language description of each service rendered.
  • Commerce-software provider MarketTime has appointed Christine Lee chief executive. Lee’s experience includes executive roles at BillingTree, Moneris, WorldPay, and Bank of America.
