AmEx Hires Wells Fargo’s Taylor To Lead U.S. Merchant Services and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 9/11/20

  • American Express Co. named Colleen Taylor president of U.S. merchant services. Taylor has been executive vice president of merchant services at Wells Fargo & Co. and had worked at Mastercard Inc.
  • The financial newspaper Barron’s is reporting that publicly held Puerto Rico-based payments processor Evertec has hired Goldman Sachs to advise on plans for a sale of the company to a private buyer.
  • Taxi app Curb launched a feature that shows riders what they’ll pay before the trip starts. The feature is available in New York City and Washington, D.C., with Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and San Francisco to follow.
  • The Twetch app released Twetch Chat, which enables private messages encrypted with the sender’s Bitcoin private keys as well as person-to-person payments using Bitcoin.
