An Acquisitive Shift4 Payments Buys Taxi Processor CurvePay

Shift4 Payments LLC has made another acquisition. The acquiring player behind the Harbortouch brand purchased Melville, N.Y.-based CurvePay, which was backed by IRN Payment Systems, Shift4 announced Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.

It was only two weeks ago that Allentown, Pa.-based Shift4 Payments finalized acquisitions for three hospitality point-of-sale providers, and a little more than a month ago that Lighthouse Network purchased Las Vegas-based Shift4 Corp. and took its name.

CurvePay brings the merchant accounts for “tens of thousands” of U.S. taxis to the Shift4 Payments portfolio, the company says, adding “millions” of annual transactions. CurvePay’s technology and operation will be absorbed into Harbortouch.

“This is an exciting acquisition for Shift4 Payments that adds tens of thousands of new customers and millions of annual transactions to our payment network,” Jared Isaacman, Shift4 Payments chief executive, said in a press release.

Shift4 Payments says it processes more than 1 billion annual transactions valued at more than $100 billion in payments for almost 200,000 merchants.
