- Checkout provider Skipify said its technology is launching exclusively with American Express Co. to enable select cardholders to link to eligible AmEx cards to checkout with participating merchants. The integration means consumers will not need to manually enter their payment and billing details, which could help with merchant approval and conversion rates, Skipify said.

- Cryptocurrency platform Coinbase is thinking of adding Bitcoin’s Lightning network, according to Coinbase chief executive Brian Armstrong. The Lightning network is code that speeds up Bitcoin transactions.
- Payments provider Priority Technology Holdings Inc. announced it has closed on its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of business-to-business payments platform Plastiq Inc. Terms were not announced.
- The number of breached accounts increased 156% globally in the second quarter, according to a report from Surfshark, which provides a virtual private network service, with more than 49 million of the 110.8 million accounts originating in the United States.
- Paulette Rowe has been appointed chief executive of payments-technology provider Stax Payments, taking the reins from interim CEO John Kristel. Kristel will return to his role as operating partner at Greater Sum Ventures. Rowe formerly was CEO of the integrated and e-commerce solutions division of Paysafe Ltd.
- Fiserv Inc. appointed Charlotte Yarkoni to its board of directors. Yarkoni is an executive at Microsoft Corp.
