AppTech To Acquire Alliance Partners And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 10/16/23

  • AppTech Payments Corp., a specialist in business-to-business and business-to-consumer payments, has agreed to acquire Alliance Partners LLC and its FinZeo money-movement software. With the deal, expected to close Oct. 31, AppTech will become a payment facilitator, a company that allows merchants to accept payments on the company’s merchant account. Terms were not announced.
  • NCR Corp. announced it has officially changed its name to NCR Voyix Corp., ahead of the expected split later Monday of the company into two entities—NCR Voyix, which specializes in digital commerce, and NCR Atleos, which will run the former NCR’s mainline ATM business.
  • Processor Jack Henry & Associates Inc. launched Financial Crimes Defender, a cloud-based fraud-detection engine aimed at serving community and regional financial institutions.
  • In related news, MDT Technologies said it will host the Symitar core-processing platform for Jack Henry under an extended agreement. The platform serves credit unions.
  • Intuit Inc. announced its QuickBooks accounting software has added QuickBooks Bill Pay, a service for businesses.
  • Online holiday sales are projected to increase 5% over 2022, according to a new analysis from Signifyd, an online fraud protection platform. Apparel and electronics categories could grow 9% and 8%, respectively, in the fourth quarter. Signifyd will release periodic holiday spending data in its Holiday Season Pulse Tracker.
  • Payments platform Airwallex said it will process global payments for Alpaca, a digital brokerage service.
