- PayPal Holdings Inc. and Bank of America Corp. announced an agreement whereby PayPal will tokenize BofA cards for in-store transactions based on the PayPal wallet. The in-store payments will work with a PayPal service using near-field communication that PayPal says is coming, without adding details.
- Discover Financial Services said in its second quarter earnings results that its interchange revenue totaled $666 million, a 4.7% increase from $636 million in 2016’s second quarter. Overall, the card network had net income of $546 million, an 11.4% decrease from $616 million a year ago.
- Money-transfer firm TransferWise Inc. now accepts Apple Pay as a funding source for U.S. consumers and in some other markets, Reuters reported. The U.K.-based company has offered this service to U.K. consumers since 2015.
- Apriva said it integrated its payment gateway with the You’reOnTime business-management software from NewChurchTek Pty Ltd.
- Money-transfer firm WireCash.com launched an instant automated clearing house payments service for international money transfers.
- First Data Corp. said it is providing a full-service, business-to-business e-commerce gift card site to ASDA, a United Kingdom-based grocer owned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. The service enables ASDA to sell its gift cards to other businesses.
- The ATM Industry Association released a position paper on cash.
