Bitcoin Out at Microsoft’s Windows Store and other Digital Transactions News briefs

Dissident shareholder Harvest Capital Strategies LLC, owner of 7.8% of prepaid card provider Green Dot Corp., nominated three director candidates for election at Green Dot’s upcoming annual shareholder meeting. Green Dot issued a statement saying it had recently offered Harvest Capital the opportunity to appoint one director immediately and had taken other steps to address its concerns about the company’s management and direction, but Harvest Capital “has shown no signs of compromise and dismissed these proposals in favor of a disruptive and potentially value-destroying public campaign.”

Microsoft Corp. no longer accepts Bitcoin at its Windows Store, a little more than a year after announcing it would support the digital currency.

Airrosti Rehab Center LLC, an operator of more than 150 physical therapy centers in six states, is using an electronic billing service provided by PatientPay, a practice-management software provider, and processor TransFirst Holdings LLC. Total System Services Inc. (TSYS) is buying TransFirst for $2.35 billion.

Payoneer, a specialist in business-to-business payments, has acquired Armor Payments, a platform for so-called escrow-as-a-service solutions. Terms were not disclosed.

Beer and spirits distributor Horizon Beverage Group has adopted a platform from Financial Transmission Network Inc. for online acceptance, processing, and posting of automated clearing house transactions.

Nicholas Financial Inc., an automobile loan servicer, is using ACI Worldwide Inc.’s UP Bill Payment Solution for consumers to use to make one-time and recurring debit card and automated clearing house payments.

• Prepaid card manager Blackhawk Network Holdings Inc. appointed veteran payments entrepreneur Anil D. Aggarwal to its board. Aggarwal is a cofounder of the Money2020 conference and is chief executive and chairman of Shoptalk, a new conference set for May.
