BNY Mellon Lands Direct Express Contract and other Digital Transactions News briefs from 11/22/24

  • The Bureau of the Fiscal Service, part of the U.S. Treasury Department, has appointed the Bank of New York Mellon Corp. to manage the bureau’s Direct Express prepaid debit card program under a five-year agreement, starting Jan. 3.
  • Fraud-prevention platforms Bectran Inc. and Giact Systems LLC are partnering to offer companies services that identify and authenticate customers involved in automated clearing house payments for company credit departments.
  • A threat called Ghost Tap has emerged in which criminals can use tap-to-pay data from stolen credit cards connected to Google Pay and Apple Pay in making payments from users’ accounts at any location in the world, according to the security firm ThreatFabric B.V.
  • Mastercard Inc. will work with fintech Fundbot to introduce a payments platform that can quicken business-to-business payments in various industries.
  • Technology firm Red Maple has launched Red Maple Credit Cards for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service, aimed at easing payment processing for technicians while at work in the field. Accepted payment types include credit cards, PayPal, and the automated clearing house.
