Bold Checkout Options Expand And Other Digital Transactions News briefs from 12/19/23

  • Technology provider Bold Commerce launched a feature for its Bold Checkout platform that aims to make it easier for clients to expand the range of payment options they accept.
  • Eastern Bank PLC, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, will issue what is said to be the world’s first biometric metal card, with fingerprint-recognition technology from Norway-based Idex Biometrics. The Mastercard-branded card is expected to reach consumers by early next year.
  • The Financial Data Exchange LLC, a financial-industry standards body, has released FDX API 6.0, whose features include earlier fraud notification and additional options for payment network data. FDX releases updates to its application programming interface twice yearly. Some 65 million consumer accounts use the API for data sharing, FDX says.
  • Presto Automation Inc., a developer of technology for drive-through and at-table ordering and payments, named Debarag Banerjee head of voice engineering. Banerjee joins Presto holding 15 patents and with a background in artficial-intelligence technology.
  • Canada-based Corpay said it is expanding its cross-border payments platform with the opening of an office in Chennai, India.
  • SimplePin, a cloud-based payments platform specializing in the insurance industry, announced it has signed Axis Insurance as a client.
