Bold Commerce Adds PayPal Integrations for Merchants Using OpenCart And Gravity Forms E-Commerce Platforms

Bold Commerce Inc., a developer of e-commerce checkout software, has added two integrations to OpenCart and Gravity Forms to enable small and mid-size businesses using those platforms to accept any PayPal payment option, including Fastlane and Venmo.

OpenCart is a free, open-source platform for building and managing online stores. Gravity Forms is a WordPress plugin that allows Web-site owners to create customizable online store forms to sell products and services on their site.

The integrations are part of Bold’s larger mission to provide small and mid-size businesses with the ability to tailor their checkout on any e-commerce platform and will leverage the same technology Bold Commerce and PayPal developed for Adobe eCommerce, formerly Magento, to accept PayPal products. As a result, merchants can integrate these checkout features on top of their existing e-commerce platforms.

E-commerce is a bigger part of small and mid-size merchants’ business, generating more than 54% of total sales, according to Bold Commerce. Still, most of these merchants lack the budgets, resources, and personnel to enhance their e-commerce offerings, Bold Commerce says.

“Payment flexibility is critical to the online-shopping experience—so much so that consumers will completely abandon a purchase if their preferred payment method isn’t available,” Casey Gannon, vice president of technology partnerships at Bold Commerce, says in a statement. “Offering this level of flexibility should be an option for all e-commerce brands, no matter how big or small their operations are. Our latest work with PayPal makes that happen.”

In addition to providing payment integrations, Bold Commerce’s platform allows merchants to build and test various checkout experiences based on shoppers’ buying habits, taking into account their profiles, device, channel, and location where they are shopping.
