  • Mobile marketing specialist Vibes said brands sent 400% more mobile messages for buy online pickup in store and buy online pickup at curbside services in the 2020 fourth quarter than they did in the 2019 fourth quarter. Vibes predicted that both pickup options will continue to grow 45% in 2021.
  • London-based digital payouts platform WeGift closed a $12-million funding round to help finance new product plans and a planned expansion into the U.S. market.
  • Payments platform PayNearMe said it enhanced its iGaming service to make it easier for U.S. operators to accelerate their time to market and simplify the deposit and payout experience with a single integration.
  • KeyCorp has agreed to acquire AQN Strategies LLC, a banking and payments consulting firm. Terms were not announced.
  • E-commerce payments provider Digital River Inc. said it has enhanced its connectors for the Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and WordPress platforms. The new connectors offer increased support for cross-border sales and local fees, among other features.
  • Payments-technology provider Atlantic-Pacific Processing Systems NV Corp. said it will support credit card processing for resort and casino operator Sahara Las Vegas.
  • Startup PayGround Inc., which is focused on simplifying the payment process for patients who need to pay medical bills, raised $4 million in a seed funding round.
  • Nacha, the rule-setting organization for the automated clearing house network, has named Early Warning Services LLC as a preferred partner for account validation.
  • SpotOn Transact Inc., a payments provider specializing in small businesses, launched its “To Denver With Love” fundraising campaign to support restaurants in that city impacted by the pandemic.
  • In related news, restaurant payments provider Cluster POS reported a 33% year-over-year increase in software-as-a-service revenue in 2020 by expanding its client base to more than 1,000 locations.
  • Restaurant point-of-sale system provider Toast named Anisha Vaswani to the new position of chief information officer. Vaswani has more than 20 years of experience in information technology.
