- The Brink’s Co. announced it has acquired ATM owner and services provider PAI Inc. for $213 million. PAI’s network links 100,000 machines.
- Banking-technology provider Jack Henry & Associates Inc. announced more than 115 financial institutions are now live on its real-time payments hub, JHA PayCenter. The hub connects to The Clearing House Payments Co.’s Real Time Payments network and to the Zelle peer-to-peer payments network, and will later link to the Federal Reserve’s FedNow platform, set to launch in 2023.
- PayPal Holdings Inc. said it has acquired naming rights for the stadium of the San Jose Earthquakes major league soccer team. The venue, which will be called PayPal Park under the 10-year agreement, will be equipped with PayPal’s payment technology, including QR-code capability.
- Payments provider Lightspeed POS Inc. said its Lightspeed Payments for hospitality merchants is now available in the United Kingdom and Europe. In March, Lightspeed announced its acquisition of Vend Ltd.
- Uber’s Uber Eats food-delivery service has reached an agreement with Sodexo in France to allow Sodexo Pass restaurant cardholders to have meals delivered seven days a week with no minimum in more than 240 French cities.
- Paymogy LLC announced it has opened for business. The company invests in payment facilitators and independent software vendors (ISVs).
- A report from Vidyard, a video platform for businesses, found that financial services organizations increased their video output 129% in 2020. More than 750,000 published videos by more than 1,500 businesses were analyzed.
- Blockchain-based payments provider GreenBox POS doubled its projection for processing volume in 2021 to $1.2 billion.
